Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any services provided by HUM Home LLC ("HUM," "we," "us"), including our websites at humhome.co and hire.humhome.co, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

HUM Home is a household staffing company that connects families with qualified household professionals including house managers, housekeepers, nannies, and personal assistants. Our services include:

  • Candidate sourcing, screening, and evaluation
  • Job posting and candidate application collection
  • Interview scheduling and coordination
  • Candidate profile and endorsement packet preparation
  • Trial day planning and support
  • Self-serve hiring tools via hire.humhome.co

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account or submitting an application
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Candidate Terms

  • By applying through HUM, candidates consent to screening of their resume and application materials
  • Candidates may opt in to the talent pool for consideration for future roles
  • Candidates may request removal from the talent pool at any time
  • Candidate personal information is shared with hiring families only when the candidate is shortlisted
  • Candidate addresses are not shared with families until a background check is completed

5. SMS/Text Messaging Terms

By opting in to text messages from HUM Home, you consent to receive job application status updates, interview scheduling notifications, recruitment-related communications, and position-related information via SMS.

  • Message Frequency: You may receive up to 5 messages per month related to your application status.
  • Opt-Out: You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. No further messages will be sent unless you re-opt-in. Opting out of SMS will not affect your job candidacy.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at support@humhome.co.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging rates apply.
  • By opting in, you also agree to our Privacy Policy regarding the handling of your mobile information.

6. Employment Relationship

For candidates placed through our self-serve platform (hire.humhome.co), HUM facilitates connections between families and candidates. The employment relationship is between the family and the candidate. Families are responsible for:

  • Complying with all applicable employment laws (wage and hour, tax withholding, workers' compensation)
  • Proper classification of workers (W-2 vs 1099)
  • Background checks and verification
  • Employment agreements and offer terms

For candidates placed through our full-service staffing agency, HUM manages the placement process end-to-end including screening, endorsement, and onboarding support.

7. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Use our services for any unlawful purpose or to discriminate against candidates based on protected characteristics
  • Submit false or misleading information in job postings or applications
  • Contact candidates outside of our platform for unauthorized purposes
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from our services without permission

8. Limitation of Liability

Our services are provided "as is." We make no warranties about the quality of candidates or the outcome of any hire. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our services. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
